Professional Experience
Mr. Whitman joined the firm in November 2004. In addition to trial work, Mr. Whitman handles the majority of our in-house appeals. Prior to joining Cartwright Whitman Baer PC, Mr. Whitman's practice included personal injury claims, domestic relations cases, and business contract disputes. Mr. Whitman is admitted to practice in Oregon state and federal Courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Mr. Whitman currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Estate Planning Section of the Oregon State Bar and is an appointed member of the Oregon Judicial Department's Uniform Trial Court Rules Committee. He has been a contributing author to several Oregon State Bar Continuing Legal Education publications, including chapters on trust litigation and family law. He has also presented at continuing legal education seminars on topics relating to elder financial abuse litigation and appellate procedure.
